Arrival and departure transfers.
Excursion: Toledo in Madrid. Boat: on the Guadalquivir River in Seville. Panoramic tours in: Madrid, Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Fez, Seville, Cordoba. Night transfer: Plaza Mayor in Madrid, Carriage ride to Jemaa Square in Marrakech. Entrances: Visit and entrance to the Alhambra Palace
Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will take a panoramic tour where we will visit the most representative monumental points of the city. In the evening, we include a transfer to Plaza Mayor, where you can have dinner and enjoy some wine at a traditional tavern.
We include an excursion to the historic city of Toledo, protected by the Tagus River. Its medieval streets tell stories of Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Free afternoon in Madrid. Tonight, if you wish, we propose an optional flamenco show.
Departure from Madrid in the early morning. We travel south, crossing La Mancha, with a stop in Puerto Lápice, a town that evokes Don Quixote. We enter Andalusia through Despeñaperros. Arrival in Granada. Included lunch. In the afternoon, if you purchased the tour with a visit to the Alhambra, we will visit the immense Alhambra Palace and its beautiful Generalife gardens with a local guide.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of visitors allowed in the Alhambra is limited by law.
Day 4. TUE October 10. Granada-Asilah-Rabat. Departure from Granada. We pass through the Costa del Sol. In Algeciras or Tarifa, we board a modern ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar (ticket included). Usually, the bus will not be boarded, so each passenger must carry their luggage. Arrival in Morocco. Beautiful landscapes. ASILAH – Picturesque small walled city facing the Atlantic, once a pirate port, now a lively town. Time for lunch. Then we continue to RABAT. Included dinner.
Day 5. WED October 11. Rabat-Casablanca-Marrakech. Panoramic tour of RABAT; we visit its immense Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the powerful Kasbah of the Udayas. At noon, we depart for CASABLANCA, where we will have a brief guided tour of the city. We will see the exterior of the great Hassan II Mosque, one of the most important in the Arab world. We then continue to MARRAKECH. Upon arrival at the hotel, we include a carriage ride to the famous Jemaa El Fna Square. Included dinner.
Day 6. THU October 12. Marrakech. We include a panoramic tour of this city that gave its name to the country. We will see the city’s great walls, the Jemaa Square with its activity, walk through the bustling Medina, see the Kutubiya Tower, and visit the Bahia Palace. Included lunch. Free time, you can relax by the pool and garden of the hotel or shop in the Marrakech Souks. In the evening, there is the possibility to experience the Fantasy Show (optional).
Day 7. FRI October 13. Marrakech-Ait Benhaddou-Ouarzazate-Boulmane Dades. We head to the Atlas Mountains, where snow-capped peaks often bid farewell to the palm grove of Marrakech. Small Berber villages cling to the cliffs. We visit the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, where numerous films have been shot. Both today and tomorrow, we will explore the so-called biblical landscapes. Time in Ouarzazate, a city with an impressive Kasbah. We continue to the Valley of Roses. BOULMANE DADES. Included dinner.
Day 8. SAT October 14. Boulmane Dades-Todra-Khorbat-Erfoud. A thrilling stage in the Sahara Desert, the Valley of the Kasbahs, river valleys with thousands of palm trees, plains of stones followed by oases and adobe villages with powerful fortresses defending the way. We visit the Todra Gorges, a powerful gorge with walls over 100m high on both sides. On our route, we stop in a small adobe village near Khorbat to visit a desert village where the Europamundo Foundation has collaborated (occasionally not accessible due to weather conditions and river overflow). We continue to Erfoud. Included lunch. Passengers who wish can take a 4×4 excursion to the Sahara dunes and watch the sunset among the dunes.
Day 9. SUN October 15. Erfoud-Fes. We leave the Sahara early, crossing the mountains through areas inhabited by nomads in high and cold lands. After the desert, we encounter forests, sometimes snowy, before arriving in Fez. Arrival in the early afternoon. Free time. Included dinner.
Day 10. MON October 16. Fez-Tangier. Panoramic tour of FEZ, the cultural capital of the country, known for its impressive Medina with lively markets and an ancient world atmosphere. At the end of the visit, we include lunch in a former palace in the Medina. After that, we head north in Morocco. Arrival in TANGIER in the late afternoon. Included dinner.
Day 11. TUE October 17. Tangier-Seville. Free time in TANGIER. Will you take the opportunity for some last-minute shopping? We board a ferry back to Spain. The bus will not be boarded, so each passenger must carry their luggage on the ferry. Arrival in Algeciras or Tarifa and continuation to SEVILLE. Arrival in the late afternoon. Included dinner.
Day 12. WED October 18. Seville. In the morning, we include a panoramic tour of the city. You can see the cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour, we include a boat trip on the Guadalquivir River. Enjoy the panoramic views from the boat. In the evening, there is the possibility of attending a popular flamenco show.
Day 13. THU October 19. Seville-Cordoba-Consuegra-Madrid. We depart from Seville, following the Guadalquivir Valley, and travel to CÓRDOBA. With a local guide, we visit its magnificent Mosque-Cathedral (entrance included), take a walk through the old quarter with its famous flower-filled courtyards, and visit the Old Synagogue (entrance included). After lunchtime, we head to the Castilian lands. We make a stop in CONSUEGRA, where 12 giant windmills overlook the La Mancha plain next to the castle. We visit the Rucio Windmill. We return to MADRID. End of our services.
Day 14. FRI October 20. Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
